Earth Day 2017
& Healthy Kids Day

April 29, 2017

The Earth Day event will be held along with the 2017 Healthy Kids Day.  Both events have decided to work together on a common theme since a healthy lifestyle and healthy environment go hand in hand.

  • Children's Activities
  • Family Yoga or Drumming
  • Food by Local Vendors
  • Wildlife of WI Educational Animals
  • Roorbach Flowers - Planting Seedlings 
  • Music Performances throughout the day.
  • Healthy Rhythms for Earth with participation for all ages in song, drumming, rhythm, and movement.
  • Well Water Screening for Nitrates by the League of Women Voters booth (bring 1/2C sample).
  • Mariners Football Demo and Mini Workout with Kids.


Earth Day Beach Cleanup!

9:00am on April 22nd. Help keep our lakeshore clean and healthy!  Contact the Friends of the Manitowoc River Watershed at 920-242-1993 to
sign up for a beach near you!

Door Prizes!

Get tickets at the door for a chance to win great prizes! One ticket per attendee.  Get two tickets if you ride a bike, walk, or take public transportation to the event!  Prizes announced throughout the day by the music.

Earth Friendly Collections!
  • Pharmaceuticals - Bring your unwanted medications to the Manitowoc County Drug Disposal Program.  More details...
  • Cell phones - turn in old and unwanted Cell Phones at the Recycling Center booth.  All cell phones will be donated to the Cell Phones for Soldiers program.
  • Mercury Thermometers - bring your mercury fever thermometers and receive a digital thermometer.  All mercury and mercury containing devices will be accepted; however, only household thermometers are eligible for the exchange program.  There is a limit of one digital thermometer per household while supplies last. Be sure to safely transport mercury containing items by placing them in a cushioned, leak-proof container.
  • Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids - turn these items in at the Recycling Center booth for donation to the Lions Club.
  • Printer Cartridges - turn these in at the Cartridge World booth.
